Four Tours in One Day

As an introduction to The Gambia or simply as the best way to see as much of the Gambia in one day as possible, Arch Tours offer 4 trips in one day.

All tours start and finish at the front door of your hotel, from where we will pick you up at the time specified for the tour and drop you back there at the end.

Experience the Real Gambia with 4 tours in 1 day

This tour entails the 4 major tours that other tour companies offer separately. Our tour is not as physically demanding as you may think and offers our customers a real introduction to The Gambia and real value for money.

We cover a lot of ground, ensuring some great photo opportunities and stop every 30-45 minutes at a place of interest for refreshments.

4 TOURS IN 1 DAY (8am - 6pm) Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

This tour starts with a visit to Serrekunda Market where we will show you some of the local products produced and sold in the Gambia and explain their uses. We then proceed to "Kachikally" crocodile pool where you will learn the history of these crocks and wish for fertility from the waters of the pond. Shake hands with a croc or two before boarding our jeeps to the "Abuko" Cattle Market where you will learn all about cattle farming in the Gambia and how important cattle are to the average Gambian farmer.

Then we the drive to "Lamin Lodge" for a 30 minutes break for coffee or tea and home made Gambian doughnuts on the banks of the River Gambia. After the break, we visit the main oyster collection point and learn about the part oysters play in the community.

Then we have a leisurely drive through the west and south of the Gambia passing through nearly 20 small villages and hamlets. Our aim is to show you the real Gambia and not the tourist Gambia.

We will stop in one of the villages along the way and see how the locals live as families and as a social unit. Then we head to Paradise Beach and along the way we will be telling you about the schools and education sytem in the Gambia making stops at different pplaces for a detailed illustration. We will also stop by a termite hill and tell you their importance to the community.

We will spend 2 or 3 hours at Paradise Beach where we will have lunch. Here you can relax on free sun beds, walk on the beach or go for a swim before getting ready for the 22 kilometers drive along the beach if the tide allows us to. Otherwise we will have to drive along the coastal road

Either way, we will pass through "Tanji" which is the biggest fishing village in the Gambia where we will witness the days catch being landed as the local fishing boats return from sea.

We will also show you how the fish are processed and preserved for export to other parts of Africa and to African communities in Europe and America. We will also see the role played by Gambia women in the fishing industry in the Gambia.

From the fish market and smoke houses of Tanji, we then drive back home and deliver you to the comfort of your respective Hotels around 6pm
